BioChris Ames is a freelance writer and investigative journalist. He has written extensively for the New Statesman and elsewhere about spin doctor involvement in the September 2002 dossier "Iraq's weapons of mass destruction". He is editor of the Iraq Inquiry Digest created and maintains the Iraq Dossier Website, has written and presented a film on this issue and is writing a book.
Using the Freedom of Information Act, Chris uncovered and forced the publication in February 2008 of the "John Williams draft" of the dossier. This was the first full draft of the dossier and was written by the former director of communications at the Foreign Office.
Chris also writes about politics, freedom of information, secrecy and media manipulation. His blog Spin and Spinners deals mainly with spin in the media.
